Today, the Senate has 100 members in it’s house. The House Of Representatives has 435 men in it’s service. There were 26 original Senators in it’s original house. The House of Representatives first met in 1682, there we 42 members currently in it’s service. That number dropped by 24 then increased by 76 by 1776. The term limit for both houses is 6 years. For someone to be a Senator, they have to be 30 years of age, and has to be a citizen of the United States for at least 9 years, and an inhabitant of the state that they wish to represent. The impeachment process is prosecuting a member of the state or government for a criminal offense. Once the official is impeached, or charged with a crime, a trial is held to see if the member loses his office or job in the government. Laws first arise as an idea for this country. Than a member of the House Of Representatives sponsors and brings that idea into discussion. Once that bill is voted on by the House, if the majority votes yes on it, the bill moves on to the Senate. Than it is voted on again, and if majority says yes, it moves on to the President. Than the President has 10 days to agree or disagree the bill and make it law.
